"European Championship of Folklore 2009"

The “European Championship of Folklore 2009" is held within the scope of “Euro Folk 2009” Musical Feasts - The world is television. Musical Feasts “Euro Folk” are held in different European cities and countries during the whole year 2009.
Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2009” comprise fifteen musical festivals and are held under the aegis of European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF. Main event of the Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2009” is Festival No 1 in Europe of the traditional folk arts – Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk”. Every year in the Festival participate from 9 000 to 15 000 musicians, singers and dancers.
Typical feature of Musical Feasts “Euro Folk” is, that all performances are recorded with professional audio and television technics and the best of them will be repeatedly broadcasted by 50 cable televisions in Bulgaria, by the satelite and national cable televisions "Eurocom Bulgaria", “Rodina TV” and "Heros TV", as well as by the World Wide Internet Television "Euro Folk" at www.eurofolk.com/tv. All this activities realize the main purpose of Musical Feasts “Euro Folk – The world is television”, which is to make the traditional folk arts popular through the enormous possibilities of mass media.
Preliminary Program
The festival program includes competitions in the following categories:

folk songs;

folk dances;
-
folk ensembles;
-
brass bends and folklore orchestras;

popular and variety songs;

in all the categories there are classifying for young people up to 19 years
The jury has the right to ask for partial performance of the notified program, if it exceeds the prescribed time limits. Nevertheless, the participants must be prepared, if requested, to perform the program in its entirety.
During the “European Championship of Folklore 2009” studio audio recordings and filming of professional video clips of the participants' program will be done free of charge of those performances awarded by the jury or against payment.
The program must not exceed 40 minutes.
The made recordings will be broadcasted by 50 Bulgarian cable televisions, by 3 satellite televisions covering the whole Europe, as well as by the World Wide Internet Television “Euro Folk” at www.eurofolk.com/tv .
During the participation of the group in the “European Championship of Folklore 2009” it could be invited by the organizers to take part in the common events - Official opening, Official closing, parade, cocktail or others.
Regulations
The main task of the organizers is to give a chance for expression of the creative collectives and joining them in a concourse program, that defines the best of them, and also propagandizing of the awarded by broadcasting in the European TV ether.
The "European TV Championship 2009" is organized for the first time by EAFF and other organizations within the scope of Musical Feasts “Euro Folk 2009 – the world is television” from 12th to 20th of July, 2009. The host of the Championship is the “Sunny Beach” Resort, Bulgaria.
Regulations for participation in "European TV Championship of Folklore 2009"
To enter the participants must be accredited, which is realized under the following conditions: The organizers from European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF send a letter and a regulation for participation to interested groups.
Those who wish to take part in the Festival must fill-in and sign application forms, in which there is also an unambiguous text indicating that the notifier accepts the conditions, laid by the Regulation.
The collectives, applying for participation, must have awarded prestigious prizes from other festivals; the prizes should be indicated in the application.The application forms shall be accepted not later than March 15th, 2009.
The participants pay according to the given prices for their participation in the “European Championship of Folklore 2009". The advance payment is 20% of the whole amount for participation of the group. It should be payed up to April 15th, 2009.
20% advanced payment from the total amount for participation, calculated by the price, chosen from the relevant group, must be transferred via the bank account in Euro: Reiffeisen Bank – branch Veliko Tarnovo, IBAN: BG49RZBB91551488861308, BIC: RZBBBGSF up to 15.04.2009 (April 15, 2009) for the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF. For example for a group, consisting of 21 people for staying in a 3 stars hotel with spending the night, breakfast and dinner in a double room, for 8 people in a room the amount is being calculated in the following way: 21 х 8 х 30 EURO = 5040 EURO. The advanced payment equals 5040 х 0,2 = 1008 EURO. This amount must be transferred via the mentioned bank account. The discounts shall be rendered at the final paying off.
The prices for the staying, including the necessary festival service, are as follows:
In a 4 stars hotel
Full board and lodging: 49 Euro;
In a 3 stars hotel
One night with breakfast and dinner for 2 people per a room – 30 Euro
One night with breakfast and dinner for 3 people per a room – 25 Euro
In a 2 stars hotel
One night with board and lodging: 25 Euro;
On every group, consisting of 20 people, 1 leader gets services for free.
The participants send to the address of European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF the latest album of the artist /band/ or demo record of not less than two songs. It is recommended that the application form is accompanied with annotation about the participant and promo-materials such as photos. All sent materials are not a subject of return.
Awards
Grand-Prix “Euro Folk 2009 – Golden Orpheus” and a diploma for a European Champion of Folklore.
The award is decided by the jury in accordance with the procedures, set by the members before the opening of the Championship and announced to the entrants on the opening day.
First awards "Golden Orpheus" in each category and a diploma for a European Champion of Folklore for the relevant category.

The jury awards the best performances with a free of charge shooting and producing of a free of charge video clip.
All of the participants are granted with a diploma as laureates, diplomas and awards. The awards are granted on a ceremony during "Euro Folk 2009" Musical Feasts - The world is television.
In the opinion of the jury and the producers Euro Folk Academy the best performers and artistic leaders shall be honoured with a Diploma for obtaining the rank Maestro or Maestro Academic.
All award winners get a free of charge copy of the TV product, which consists their performances and has been broadcasted in Bulgaria or in Europe.
Participants can order against payment full recordings of their performances, including video clips, on compact disc, videocassette, multimedia disc or DVD. These products are with the right of broadcasting in the relevant country.
Participants do not get paid for their performance.
The deadline for giving in the applications is March 15th, 2009.
The jury is international and consists of 3 persons.
Unambiguous text: The artists or presenting organizations, if approved by the jury to participate in the Championship, give the organizers the right to be recorded on video and audio, arranged in a program, presenting the fest and broadcasted by a TV channel or some other way, for which a contract agreement will be signed.
Registration of the participants
The registration accomplishes on the basis of sending a request for participation from the collective. After confirming the request the advanced payment should be made.

All filled and signed applications will mean acceptance of the terms laid by the present regulation.
The registration of the participants at their arrival will be completed in the Municipality of Ravda, Bulgaria.
